
Members present research at the British Rhinological Society Conference
Members of the Rhinology and ENT Research Group at UEA presented their research at the British Rhinological Society Conference in Sheffield on 19th May 2022. The team have been working on projects related to smell and taste disorders with Professor Carl Philpott over the last few months.
Selected as one of the eight researchers to present their work, Miss Kala Kumaresan spoke about two studies: ‘When is Magnetic Resonance Imaging most beneficial in olfactory dysfunction? A retrospective review of a tertiary referral smell and taste clinic’ and also ‘Core Outcome Sets for Olfactory Dysfunction by Clinical Olfactory Working Group (COWoG) a COMET (Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials) initiative.’
Dr Mairenn Garden spoke about her work on ‘Establishing research priorities for smell and taste disorders: The James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership’ and Mr Shyam Gokani presented on a systematic review of biomarkers in chronic rhinosinusitis.
The team also pitched for research funding as part of the British Rhinological Society Dragon’s Den Competition and attended lectures on new developments in the field of Rhinology.
